During this trip you will see almost all people travel to Norway -mountains, lakes, valleys, mines, stave church, and world famous history all wrapped up in amazing scenery.
You will drive via Drammen with its oldest brewery and then further towards silver mines. Driving by the city famous for its blues festivals the route brings you to the old wooden church with its unique architecture and 1000 years of history.
Later the journey continues along the Tinnsjøen – the third deepest lake in Norway. It holds few secrets and you can discover it while there.
Entering Rjukan in the very narrow valley, which runs east-west, hence there not much sun in the winter. Allthough inhabitants found the way! They fixed a mirror on top of the valley on the northern side. It worth to take a stop there and enjoy this idyllic location. There are also a cableway/funicular up on the same side, with a restaurant on top.
Being there you will hear interesting stories and learn why the place is so famous.
From Vemork, the journey goes back through the city towards Gaustatoppen – the highest peak in this part of Norway.
On the way back to Oslo one can see different variations of stabber – the small wooden buildings in the property used as a food storage.
